MOST EXPENSIVE LIQUIDS IN THE WORLD

SCORPION VENOM:
The deathstalker is one of the most dangerous scorpions on the planet, and what makes it so dangerous also happens to be the most expensive liquid in the world.  This stuff costs $39 million per gallon. Now, even if you had the money, you couldn't just go and buy a gallon of the stuff, because you can only get it in tiny, minuscule amounts. $130 will get you a droplet that's smaller than a grain of sugar.
One scorpion produces, at the most, just two milligrams of venom at a time. So, let's do the math. If you owned one scorpion you would have to milk it 2.64 million times to fill a gallon. This venom is used to fight against multiple sclerosis. In addition, it has been found that when consumed it can stop the growth of cancer cells. It costs Rs.72 crore per litter.

KING COBRA VENOM :
Their venom is not the most potent among venomous snakes, but the amount of neurotoxin they can deliver in a single bite—up to two-tenths of a fluid ounce—is enough to kill 20 people or even an elephant.
King cobra venom affects the respiratory centres in the brain, causing respiratory arrest and cardiac failure. One of the unique properties of this neurotoxin poison is the restoration of nerve cells in the brain. It is used to combat Parkinson's, Alzheimer’s and Schizophrenia. It costs Rs.28.28 lakh per litter.

LYSERGIC ACID DIETHYLAMIDE:
Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), is a hallucinogenic drug. Effects typically include altered thoughts, feelings, and awareness of one's surroundings. Dilated pupils, increased blood pressure, and increased body temperature are typical. LSD does not appear to be addictive. Its frequent use can cause acute tolerance, requiring much larger doses to feel an effect. One of the most powerful drugs in the world. Just 1L can send 1 million people to ‘Journey ‘. It costs Rs.23.13 lakh per litter.

HORSESHOE CRAB BLOOD:
Horseshoe crabs are older than the dinosaurs. They helped to keep most of us alive. If you have ever had a vaccine, chances are that it was tested for safety using horseshoe crab blood. And they're about to save even more lives because they're playing their part in the creation of a Covid-19 injection. It contains a protein molecule that causes various bacteria to clot. It costs Rs.11.3 lakh per litre.

PERFUME CHANNEL NO. 5:
Chanel No. 5 was the first perfume launched by a French couturier. The scented formula for the fragrance was compounded by French-Russian chemist and perfumer Ernest Beaux. The design of its bottle has been an important part of the product's allure. Probably the most famous fragrance in the world. It costs Rs.4.97 lakh per litre.

WHY ATLANTIC AND PACIFIC OCEAN ARE NOT MIXED?

Nearly 72% of the earth is filled with water and it is present with different names- oceans, seas, rivers. Why are they named differently? There are five oceans namely Artic ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Indian ocean and Antarctic ocean . All the oceans are different in their physical and biological character called ocean clines. When we look at the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean junction, they do not mix. Is there any invisible Wall in between them? Many scientists have conducted research to solve this mystery. The Atlantic and Pacific Ocean have different chemical composition. The salinity of the water in the Atlantic Ocean is five times more than the Pacific Ocean. The density of water is also different, so even marine animals in Atlantic Ocean will not go to the Pacific Ocean. They cannot survive in other oceans. Atlantic and Pacific Ocean meet at Cape Horn. The narrow straight line formed by the water bodies is called Drake Strait. The Pacific Ocean is ...

The Chemical Lake

Spotted Lake or Lake khiluk in Canada is richly concentrated with various minerals. It contains dense deposits of magnesium sulfate, calcium, and sodium sulfates. It also contains high concentrations of eight other minerals and lower amounts of silver and titanium. Most of the water in the lake evaporates over the summer, revealing colorful mineral deposits. Large ‘spots’ on the lake appear and are colored according to the mineral composition and seasonal amount of precipitation. Magnesium sulfate, which crystallizes in the summer, is a major contributor to spot color.  Originally known to the First Nations of the Okanagan Valley (Native American Tribe) as Khiluk, Spotted Lake was for centuries and remains revered as a sacred site thought to provide therapeutic waters. It is the most mineralized lake in the world. Each spot holds a different cure due to the unique chemical content found within each puddle. Lake Khiluk is considered a saline endorheic alkali lake. The Okanag...

Why some flowers bloom at night ?

Summer is known for its fields of wildflowers and flowering trees. All colours of pedals spread toward the sky. We have taken for granted that flowers bloom during the day, just like how summer is warm and grass grows. However, there are some flowers that defy the norm and do not go with the flow of following daylight hours. These flowers actually have a good reason for their particularly weird flower habits. The main purpose of flower blossoms is for the plant to spread their seeds. The flower attracts bees, the bees fly to another flower, and voila, the flower has spread its seeds. However, bees are not the only pollinators, even if they are the most famous.  “7 Insect Pollinators that Arendt Bees or Butterflies”, moths, mosquitos, beetles, and even ants share the credit for helping flowers flourish. Most pollinators roam only in daylight, leading most flowers to open up when the sun is out to fit their pollinators’ schedule. But not all pollinators like t...
