ICE APPLE

     It is a seasonal fruit of the sugar palm tree. It is commonly found during summers due to its exceptional cooling properties. The fruit is translucent in appearance with a texture similar to litchi and tastes like slightly sweet tender coconut. It is inside a hard brinjal-colored shell which gives protection.
Ice apples have a lot of benefits-
  • Relieves constipation, acidity, and stomach ulcers. It is used to cure other stomach ailments and digestive problems.
  • Remove the toxins in our body and helps to maintain the body temperature.
  • Is an antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce the rate of aging and helps to prevent heart disease and cancer.
  • The fleshy part can be applied to burn, and rashes caused due to the heat in summers.
  • Contains a high amount of potassium which helps to avoid liver problems.

The fruit is found and sold mainly on the highways of Mumbai, coastal regions of Alibhag, and Tamil Nadu.
