OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) is thinner, lighter, and flexible than the crystalline layers in an LED or LCD. Light-emitting layers of an OLED are lighter, can be flexible instead of Rigid. Even OLED panels are brighter than LEDs or LCDs. OLED is made of plastic. LEDs and LCDs require glass for support, and glass absorbs some light.
OLEDs do not require backlighting like LCDs. OLEDs generate light themselves. OLEDs have true blacks, but LEDs or LCDs produce some greyish color. OLEDs can turn on or off individual pixels but LEDs or LCDs cant do this. OLED panels are more color accurate.OLEDs have larger fields of view, about 170 degrees. Even OLED panels are used in mobile phones.OLEDs are more power-efficient. OLED can turn off individual pixels, Because of that, indisplay fingerprints are used on mobile displays.
But manufacturing OLED panels is expensive. Water can easily damage OLEDs. While red and green OLED films have longer lifetimes (46,000 to 230,000 hours), blue organics currently have much shorter lifetimes.
