Airtel sells Spectrum to Reliance Jio

Reliance Jio makes a partnership with Airtel. Because Airtel has more spectrum which does not use in many places. Airtel has deal to sell 800 MHz spectrum to Reliance Jio. They sell spectrum in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and Mumbai circles for 1,037.6 cores.

Jio tries to expand their spectrum footprint, especially of continuous spectrum needed for quality 4G services and making good infrastructure.

Jio will acquire 3.75 MHz in Andhra Pradesh, 1.25 MHz in Delhi, and 2.5 MHz in Mumbai. With this trading of right to use spectrum, Jio will have 2x15 MHz of spectrum in the 800-MHz band in the Mumbai circle and 2x10 MHz of spectrum in the same band in Andhra Pradesh and Delhi circles, thereby further consolidating its spectrum footprint in these circles.
