What happens instead of rolling downwards, things go uphill? Never heard of any such thing. Well, let me introduce you to a magnetic hill in India.
Magnetic Hill lies on the Leh-Kargil-Srinagar National Highway in the Trans-Himalayan region at an altitude of 14,000 feet, with the Sindhu river running on the eastern side of this hill. May to October is the perfect time to explore.
What makes this hill unique?
Yeah, when cars are left with the engine off, they can roll up at a speed of
20km/hr on this hill and are often called just "Gravity Hill",
"Magnetic Hill", "Magic Road" or something similar.
Authorities have put up a billboard in the area where the car must be parked in
neutral. Then you can explore!
Yes, local people believe that it leads to heaven but scientists explain it by theory of gravity and optical illusion, yet not clearly concluded!
It is always advisable to check into a hotel at Leh City and drive to the hill from there. There are also not many restaurants in the area, so make sure you have packed enough food before you start your journey to this mystery hill.
